It was a really great honor for AMSA-UI to host the first ever European-Asian Medical Students’ Exchange Program (EAMSEP) in Indonesia. 9 Croatian medical students from the University of Rijeka participated in this program. The program was held from the 1st of August to the 14th of August, fulfilled with aspects of Knowlegde, Action, Friendship and Culture, based on the vision of AMSA-UI.
Talking about aspects of knowledge, this program was filled with various academic activities. Starting from the pre-clinical basic clinical skills to a real clinical experience where we got the wonderful opportunity to observe various live surgical procedures, followed an academic and work-shadowing experience in the Department of Child Health, RSCM. Other academic activities include laboratory experiment, and academic tours to Anatomical Pathology Museum RSCM and Eijkmann Institute RSCM.

The delegates got the chance to do some action on a beautiful Sunday morning, in the heart of Jakarta. We promoted the event “Shave for Hope” to the participants of Car Free Day in front of the Welcoming Statue, Jakarta. “Shave for Hope” itself is one of the biggest annual event organised by AMSA-INA to raise funds for those who suffer from cancer.
Regarding the aspects of friendship, we had lots of activities and tours to strengthen the bond between the delegates and the host, and of course we had lots of fun! There were three different tours outside Jakarta, including of a tour to Taman Safari Indonesia, a tour to Bandung and a tour to Sukabumi for the purpose of rafting. We had the opportunity to indulge ourselves by the uniqueness of Indonesian cuisine. We played some games together including lasergame and badminton. Technically we had three different parties, which is the opening party, closing party, and nightclub party. We also had a visit to shopping centres such as Grand Indonesia Shopping Town. Hundreds of hours that we spent with them was fully memorable and worth to cherish.
Cultural aspects were also strongly highlighted during this program. Strong cultural differences between Croatia and Indonesia made this aspect to be more interesting. We visited the Textile Museum where the delegates got the chance to paint Batik in a traditional way and the National Museum. In addition, we visited several places which are identic to Indonesian culture such as Saung Angklung Udjo Bandung, Alun-Alun Bandung, Gedung Sate Bandung, Masjid Istiqlal, and traditional music festival in Kota Tua. Last but one of the most important, we made the delegates to feel the taste of various Indonesian food.

National Action Event 2015: Terminator

November 25th, 2015 by in News

National Action Event (NAE) 2015 was held on November 20-22 hosted by AMSA-UPH. We sent a total of 18 delegates (12 general delegates and 6 debaters) to participate in NAE 2015. On November 20, NAE 2015 started with a welcoming party with all other participants from AMSA-Indonesia. It was the first time to get to know what we were going to do for the next 2 days.

The second day (November 21), we were split into two activities: the debaters participated in the debate competition while the general delegates did a health campaign about cancer in Cilenggang. Both activities have given us a lot of experience and of course new friends! We ended the day with a Farewell Party, in which we were given a chance to watch the presentations from NRPC (National Research Paper Competition) and the winner of PCC (Pre-Conference Competition) EAMSC 2016. (Congrats to our members who have won these competitions!)

Finally in our last day, we did the health campaign #2 in Kota Tua, Jakarta. After that we went back to watch the final round of debate competition (Congrats AMSA-UNDIP!). NAE 2015 was closed with the announcement of the winners of the competition. NAE 2015 was such a great experience!
